Academy of Learning Co. shares suspended by Tadawul pending material update

Trading in Academy of Learning Company shares on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) was halted at around 10:00 am and was set to remain suspended until noon today at the company’s request. The suspension follows Tadawul rules that allow a trading halt ahead of a material event announcement. The order maintenance period will start later in the session as the firm prepares to disclose significant news.

Over the past month, as many as 13 low-priced stocks with market caps under ₹1,000 crore saw sharp share price drops of roughly 25%–50% on weak trading momentum. These penny stocks, trading under ₹20 and screened for active volumes, underperformed broader indices. Their volatility reflects limited liquidity and higher downside risk for smaller, thinly traded companies in recent sessions.
