Indonesia’s crypto market expands rapidly with record trading volumes

Crypto trading activity in Indonesia surged sharply in 2025, with total transaction value reaching $286 billion, highlighting accelerating adoption of digital assets. The increase reflects rising retail participation, broader exchange access, and growing acceptance of crypto as an alternative investment class. 

Ethereum has continued to lag Bitcoin over the past year, declining nearly 15 % amid broader crypto market volatility. Analysts cite network upgrades, competition from alternative chains, and shifting investor preferences as contributing factors. While Bitcoin has benefited from institutional interest, Ethereum’s performance has been uneven.
