Nagpur airport officials may introduce AI-based facial recognition systems to enhance security and identify known criminals before boarding. The Central Industrial Security Force has proposed installing facial recognition at key checkpoints, capturing travellers’ images and comparing them against national police databases to trigger alerts if matches are found. The technology could help flag individuals linked to crimes such as smuggling or those out on bail for brief questioning.
