Nvidia has formally joined the India Deep Tech Alliance, a collaborative fund-and-mentorship initiative targeting India’s startup ecosystem in space, semiconductors, AI and robotics.
The alliance, initially seeded with US$1 billion, has now secured additional commitments of more than US$850 million from new backers including InfoEdge Ventures, Chirate Ventures and Kalaari Capital. India’s deep-tech funding climbed 78 % to US$1.6 billion last year, though it still represented only one-fifth of the total US$7.4 billion venture capital raised.
This move aligns with the government’s US$12 billion R&D push aimed at bolstering technology sovereignty.
