Major tokens trade mixed as year-end caution keeps crypto markets range-bound
Bitcoin stayed above $87,000 while Ethereum stalled near $3,000, as regulatory delays, profit-taking and thin liquidity kept crypto markets volatile but structurally stable.
Crypto prices stayed mixed in the final stretch of 2025, with Bitcoin holding firm above the $87,000 mark while broader volatility weighed on altcoins. Bitcoin was trading near $87,948, down just over 1% in 24 hours, as profit-taking emerged ahead of large year end options expiries and thin liquidity amplified intraday moves. Ethereum remained under pressure below the $3,000 level at around $2,983, though strong institutional buying continued to provide structural support.
