Google’s Gemini App Introduces AI-Image Verification Feature

Google has launched a new capability in its Gemini app allowing users to upload an image and ask whether it was generated or edited using Google’s AI tools. The feature uses the company’s SynthID digital watermark embedded in AI-created images to provide verification. Google noted the rollout currently covers images created with its AI systems and plans to expand support to video and audio in the future.
