Andhra Pradesh lays foundation for India’s first Drone City and Space City
Andhra Pradesh launches India’s first Drone City (300 acres) and Space City (₹25,000 cr investment) to build aerospace hub and 60,000 jobs.
On 14 November 2025, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the foundation of India’s first “Drone City” and “Space City” near Visakhapatnam.
The Drone City will span 300 acres in Orvakal (Kurnool) with manufacturing parks, pilot-training hubs for 25,000 remote pilots and fifty Centres of Excellence. The Space City will focus on satellite manufacturing, component production and startup incubation with planned investment of ₹25,000 crore and 35,000 jobs over the next decade. Tax incentives include 20% capital subsidy and full SGST exemption. The moves aim to position Andhra Pradesh as a high-tech aerospace hub, leveraging national schemes in drone and space technologies while creating employment in tier-2/3 India.
