Microsoft and Abu Dhabi based G42 revealed a joint project to build an additional 200 megawatts of AI data centre capacity in the United Arab Emirates, as part of a larger investment programme exceeding 15 billion. The expansion via Khazna Data Centers is expected to start operations by end 2026. The initiative includes US export approvals for advanced chips and supports Azure secure cloud offering. 

According to a recent report by S&P Global, some 58 % of surveyed enterprises are actively pursuing agent-capable AI systems, prompting a significant infrastructure shift. The study projects GPU shipments to grow by 500 % or more during 2025-26 compared with initial 2023 estimates. Much of the build-out is aimed at supporting autonomous decision-making models rather than traditional supervised learning. 

Analysts believe this surge illustrates a lasting structural change in enterprise technology stacks and underscores heightened capital-expenditure commitments across cloud providers, data-center operators and semiconductor firms.
