A ₹500 crore venture capital vehicle is being readied under the IIT Madras Research Park to finance early-stage deep-tech ventures in AI, semiconductors, and sustainability. Scheduled for launch by March 2026, the fund will invest ₹2–10 crore per startup from seed to Series A. Corporate partners and alumni investors will anchor the corpus to translate lab research into scalable businesses. The park already hosts over 200 startups and 75 corporate R&D centers. Experts say the initiative strengthens India’s pipeline for commercializing deep-science innovations and building globally competitive IP portfolios.
