Commercial flight operations have officially begun at the, marking a major infrastructure milestone for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region after more than three decades of planning. Developed and operated by , the airport opens a critical new gateway aimed at easing congestion at the city’s primary airport. In its first phase, NMIA has the capacity to handle 20 million passengers per annum, with a clear expansion roadmap to scale up to 90 MPPA.
