Medirom shares jumped after hours after the company was selected to operate World ID verification sites in Japan, supporting the rollout of World’s biometric “Proof of Human” technology.
After hours trading saw shares of rise about 10 percent following news of a strategic partnership linked to World, the digital identity initiative co-created by Medirom announced it has signed a master service agreement with Tools for Humanity and the World Foundation to operate World ID verification locations across Japan. The sites will support World’s “Proof of Human” system, which uses biometric technology to help users verify their humanity online without disclosing personal data.
