The FDA has recalled tens of thousands of frozen shrimp packages nationwide after detecting potential low-level cesium-137 exposure linked to imported seafood products.
US food safety regulators have announced a recall of frozen raw shrimp after potential exposure to a radioactive substance was identified. The said around 83,800 bags of shrimp imported from Indonesia are being recalled because they may have been prepared or stored under conditions that exposed them to low levels of cesium-137. The products were distributed by and sold under the Market 32 and Waterfront Bistro brands.
