Indian markets and banks are closed for Christmas, with trading resuming December 26, while the NSE has outlined 15 stock market holidays scheduled for 2026.
Indian financial markets are closed on Thursday, December 25, in observance of Christmas, as confirmed by exchange holiday calendars. Trading on the BSE and NSE is suspended across all segments, including equities, equity derivatives, securities lending and borrowing, currency derivatives, and interest rate derivatives. Commodity derivatives trading on the MCX is also shut for both morning and evening sessions, while banks nationwide remain closed for the festival.
