Wainiha Country Market continues its holiday tradition by collecting children’s letters to Santa, blending local community spirit with global Christmas folklore and NORAD’s annual Santa tracking.
A small country store on Kauaʻi’s North Shore is continuing a holiday tradition that connects local families with Christmas folklore. The Wainiha Country Market is hosting its fourth annual Letters to Santa event, inviting children to submit handwritten notes before sunset as Santa begins his global journey. Store owner Joell Edwards said the market has acted as a symbolic portal to the North Pole since Thanksgiving, with volunteers helping deliver more than 100 letters each year.
