Hindustan Zinc shares surged more than 3 percent on December 22, tracking a sharp rally in silver prices that pushed the metal to record highs in global and domestic markets. The Vedanta Group company touched a fresh 52 week high of ₹606.70 in early trade , extending its gains to over 33 percent in the past one month. Silver futures with March expiry climbed above ₹2.14 lakh per kilogram for the first time, while longer dated contracts also hit new peaks. Rising silver prices have strengthened earnings visibility for metal producers, though some caution that short term profit booking cannot be ruled out after the recent sharp run up.
