Paytm introduces AI Soundbox to digitize small business interactions

Paytm chairman Vijay Shekhar Sharma showcased the AI Soundbox, a voice-enabled device that transforms traditional PoS sound boxes into AI assistants for small retailers. The gadget can interpret spoken commands, generate reports, and serve as a conversational interface, democratizing access to AI in India’s informal retail sector. The demonstration to Union Minister Piyush Goyal underlined Paytm’s push for inclusive AI adoption. Sharma called the device a “superhuman partner” for small merchants, aligning with India’s Atma Nirbhar mission.
