B30 towns drive a strong surge in mutual-fund AUM for BOI, Motilal Oswal & PGIM India.
India’s mutual-fund scene is seeing a sharp rise in B30 (beyond-tier-1) town participation: BOI Mutual Fund, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund and PGIM India Mutual Fund recorded the highest growth in AUM share in B30 zones from March 2020 to Sept 2025. BOI’s share rose ~24.6 % (from 1.47 % to 26.03 %), signalling deeper retail penetration. Overall, B30 net assets jumped from ~₹3.63 lakh crore to ~₹14.50 lakh crore, lifting the B30 segment’s share of the industry to ~19 %.
