Mutual fund industry performance: AUM hits record ~₹75.61 lakh crore; equity funds dominate market

As of September 2025, India’s mutual-fund industry achieved a historic milestone with Assets Under Management (AUM) reaching approximately ₹75.61 lakh crore, reflecting a 12.7% year-on-year increase. Equity funds were the major contributors to this growth, emphasising the strong pull of equities among both retail and institutional investors. The surge underscores increased investor participation and confidence in the Indian mutual-fund ecosystem.
