India-US agree to deepen ties on new-gen nuclear and rare-earths supply security

India and the US commit to cooperating on nuclear-reactor development and rare-earth supply chains to cut reliance on China.
India and the United States finalised a framework agreement to jointly develop new-generation nuclear power reactors and secure rare-earth mineral supply chains critical for electronics and defence. The pact features mutual investment and cooperation to diversify away from China’s dominance, including complementary stock-piling of vital inputs. Industry sources expect deals to be formalised within six months targeting sectors such as clean power, critical-minerals processing and strategic manufacturing.
