India caps airfares as travel chaos deepens amid airline crisis

India imposed a cap on airfares on 6 December after hundreds of passengers were stranded at Bengaluru and Mumbai airports. The cut comes as the country’s largest carrier IndiGo cancelled 385 flights on the fifth day of its worst ever pilot shortage crisis, disrupting thousands of journeys.
