Sebi Plans New ₹2,000 Incentive to Expand Mutual Fund Reach Among Women and Smaller Cities
Sebi has proposed a revised incentive framework that allows asset management companies to offer an additional commission of up to ₹2,000 to distributors who onboard new mutual fund investors from beyond the top 30 cities or women investors across locations. The payout will come from the investor education fund and requires the investor to stay invested for at least one year. The regulator clarified that dual incentives for the same investor will not be permitted.
