Global mutual fund assets swell 15% YoY to $80.9 trillion

Worldwide mutual fund assets climbed to $80.9 trillion in Q2 2025, a 15% year-on-year increase driven by bullish U.S. markets and record ETF subscriptions. The Americas accounted for 56% of global AUM while Europe and Asia contributed 31% and 13%, respectively. U.S. fund assets have grown at a 9% CAGR over the last decade. Morningstar data showed index funds now represent 45% of total retail holdings globally.
