Global startup activity accelerates as generative-AI attracts over half of venture funding in 2025

Data from CB Insights indicates that AI companies are on pace to secure approximately 51 % of global venture funding during 2025, marking the first year that a single sector has claimed a majority share of VC capital. The U.S. accounted for 85 % of this funding and 53 % of the deal count. 

Analysts believe the shift signals structural change in technology investment, with implications for valuations, exit strategies and sector diversification across ecosystems.
